Dirty Scythe

On the night with the setting sun they were holding hands.
“You can hold my words, Lily”
Arka said a few second before she left him and didn’t even realize that there were eyes watching them. Hands were clenched with a hateful gaze. He could even make everyone frozen with those eyes, right there and then. It would hurt more when someone who betrayed you was your own best friend. He took a deep breath and raised his head up then came closer to Arka.
“I’ve told you. What’s mine is mine. I don’t share.”
He said as he could still control his monster. They argued, screamed to one another. Arka told him arrogantly that Lily didn’t deserve him, but Arka did. Claimed what belongs to him was a wrong decision that Arka made.  He made a little smirk while his eyes moved to another place, but his expression changed in a second. A sharp look pointed right to Arka’s eyes, his jaw was hardened as well as he clenched his hands, then a punch landed on Arka’s cheek as he crossed the line.
There was Jio sat under the shower, let the blood in his hand flew with the water until it faded. He was crying then screamed to wreak his feeling. How disappointed he was when saw how dare Arka touched and claimed what’s belong to him. He couldn’t breathe well. Still kept his chin on chest. He turned the shower off and faced the other him on the mirror. Looked at his eyes deeply with no color. Then laughed.

It was a bright day, in the car Lily brought her face closer to Arka’s lips. She touched it, then Arka grimaced in pain. Looked like they were kissing from the other side. Again, Jio was there watching them. His chest was heavy. Arka looked at Lily a second after he saw Jio in eyes and hugged her in sudden, seemed like he wanted to tell Jio that Lily was not belongs to Jio anymore, but him. That was enough for Jio. He couldn’t handle it anymore. How could you express something complicated that could make you out of breath? All thing that he could do just left them with a clenched hands. Angry? Didn’t need no question to know that his heart was full of anger but the disappointment was on point. There was no color in his face. It seemed like he didn’t have any emotion and being the strongest person ever exist. But no, you won’t be able to scream even a single word when a sword pierced your chest and right rip apart your heart. It just too much.
Should I let her go?
He pressed his temple while walking back and forth in front of the window. Taking step by step with no purpose.
Should I keep her?
Blood boiled in mixture of jealousy and anger. He screamed out roughly as something made his chest heavy. The books neatly lined up on the table with some frames were scattered on the floor. The sounds of a chair that was colliding a mirror broke the silence. He grabbed anything he saw and threw it away until he felt so tired of everything. He sat limply in the corner of the dark room, his throat became dry from sorrow, staring at what he had done with blurry eyes. Everything in the room was broken. Mirror fragments with blood spots on the floor. He screamed in tears. All he could do was let his heart bleed.
On the other hand, Lily sat down near a wide window hugged her knees tight. Then she combed her long hair with her fingers. Her eyes rounded, hands were trembling when she saw her hair in hands. Tears ran down her pale face. Couldn’t get her mouth to say a word.
I don’t wanna go, please.
Her hair loss reminded her heart of a thing she wish she never heard. But it was all she had got, few more days and she gone. She knew the way it ends and just wanted to pretend a little bit more for him, the one who she loved the most.
She reached a frame. She looked at it with a tear, her thumb gently rubbed the frame. She cried in a second and hugged the frame tight. No longer than two minutes, there were no tears anymore. Her eyes closed and she lost her consciousness. Then the sound of a knock on the door broke the silence but no body answered.
Knock knock knock…’ two times, three times, four times. The sounds getting stronger, but still, no body answered. The knock sounds disappeared for about 10 seconds until ‘Bam!’ the door opened. Arka broke the door then turning around to find Lily. His eyes rounded when he saw Lily lying on the floor. He grabbed Lily and something just fell down when she was in his arms. It was a frame, he could see Lily and Jio smiled there.
The steps in hurry. Arka turning around and called everyone there to asking for a help. He needed someone to save a girl who was in his arms. He could see some people with white uniform ran into them. He laid Lily down on the gurney. They pushed the gurney in hurry. Worry was obviously visible on Arka’s face as he kept running beside her. His eyes almost barely turned away from Lily unless he looked at the way for several times along the corridor. Few more steps and they arrived. They took her into a quite large room. He tried to come in but the nurses stopped him in a second, told him to wait outside.
Arka roughly rubbed his hair, walking back and forth. Then he sat on a long chair in front of the room at the end of quiet corridor. Chin on chest while he kept moving his legs like a tailor, and hold his own hands tight. ‘Lily’ was a name all over his mind. Waiting for hours and all he could do was sat down then walking back and forth again and again.
While inside the room, Lily was struggling for her life. Sweat fell down on the doctor’s temple. He tried to save Lily with a defibrillator as the patient monitor was ringing continuously which showed that Lily’s heart stopped beating. ‘150 joule!’ The doctor’s screamed and the nurses stayed a little bit away from Lily. He needed to do it for 3 times to get her heartbeat back. He sighed as he could save her for a while.
Arka turned around in sudden when the doctor out. Finally he could took his deep breath after kept reminding his thought that Lily would be okay. Now he could see there through the glass of the window that Lily laid down on the bed with various medical devices on her body, which he didn’t know what they are for.
Few days passed, Arka was always beside Lily day and night. He spent almost all his time to make sure that she was okay. He would be there in the morning then opened the curtain and let the sunshine came in through the window. Lily was so beautiful when the sun shined on her, he saw. He smiled. Walking to the small table beside Lily then replace the flower, a White Calla Lily which has a deep meaning to describe how she was. It was a true beauty, purity and innocence. A lily for Lily.
In the late evening, Lily’s hand made a small move. Then she opened her eyes slowly and saw that Arka lay his head on the edge of the bed beside her. He looked so tired with those eye bags. She smiled at him but it turned into a tear when she was staring at the ceiling. Her sob made Arka awoken. He was blinking while rubbing his eyes, tried to get his consciousness back. He wanted to hug her but he didn’t do it as he saw she was crying with no sounds. Then he grabbed her hands.
‘Hey, why are you crying? Should I tell Jio?’ Arka said as he knew what’s bothered her thought.
Lily looked at him in sudden and held his hand tighten, then begging to him with a tear fell down through her pale face.
‘Please, don’t. Just wait a little bit more, I wouldn’t be able to stay any longer’

When the sun went to the west, Jio quietly trailed Arka to the hospital and found his Lily there wearing a white skullcap. His chest was heavy by seeing their interactions. She looked happier with Arka. But let him to be selfish just for now. He wanted Lily. It should be him there created her smile. It should be him, spent the rest of their time together. And it should be him, no matter what. But what he could do? Nothing.
Is that easy for her to leave me and kill this love?
Jio left the two of them who were laughing together. it was 1, 2, 3 AM and he could fight all night with a hundred question why did she do this to him, and when he woke back up he could do it again and again. The phone rang. Who? He saw Arka who was calling. Jio raised one of his eyebrow, then swiped the green button to answer the call. Only needed few second could make his mouth trembling, couldn’t hold the phone anymore and let it fell down. When he got his consciousness back, he went to the hospital in hurry. Kept running through the hospital’s corridor, until he saw someone who made his pace slowed. He tried to ignore and passed him by, but Arka grabbed his hand in sudden.
‘I’m sorry for all these lies. Honestly, Lily loves you. She really do.’ Arka said then gave him a ring. He tightly held the ring and kissed it. Rested on the wall while squeezing his chest. He couldn’t get his mouth to say even a word. There were too much ‘if’ crossed his thought. All thing he wished for now was Lily’s life. Someone who actually never cheated him. Someone who loved him for all of her life. He ran to a surgery room at the end of corridor. Jio took his steps limply to the door, then cried. He couldn’t even stand up.
Jio turned around as the door opened. The nurses pushed the gurney slowly with Lily laid on it. She was gone. She left him for the second times. He stopped them, then aligned his self to Lily. He looked at her pale face. His chest was heavy, he was still bleeding from the wounds evening but now he reached the point of pain. Tears just fell down without any permission.
‘My girl, you’re my all. You shouldn’t have to lie! How could you leave me this way? At least you have to say goodbye.’

Now, the monster took control of him as the memory bothered his mind. There was no scream or even tears anymore. He raised his head up slowly. Stared sharply at his reflection on the broken mirror, and smirk.
Now, there Jio was. In a mess apartment. The smirk on his face obviously showed the world how satisfied he was. Blood boiled in anger, memories with her beloved Lily rushed in. All the ‘supposed to be’ popped up in his head. He wanted to cry but there was no tear left. Smelling all the red liquids covered parts of his clothes and some on his neck and his beautiful face too. Threw away the ‘dirty scythe’ he was so done with everything. No mercy left. No words could describe how disappointed he was. The pain in his chest overloaded yet he kept on showing the world his best smile.
‘Everything’s done Lily, let’s just put all this shit to bed. I’m tired’.
